Spiced Paneer (or Tofu) with Deanz Vegetarian Spice Blend

Ingredients
- 1 block paneer or firm tofu (cubed)
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp ginger (grated)
- 2 tsp Deanz Vegetarian Spice Blend
- ½ tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 medium tomato (pureed or finely chopped)
- ¼ cup coconut milk or cream (optional for a creamy texture)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Juice of ½ lemon
Directions
- Sauté the aromatics – Heat oil or ghee in a pan, add onions, and cook until golden brown. Stir in garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add the spices – Mix in Deanz Vegetarian Masala, and chili powder to taste. Stir for a few seconds to release their flavors.
- Cook the sauce – Add pureed or chopped tomatoes, and salt, and cook until the tomatoes break down into a thick sauce (about 5 minutes).
- Add paneer/tofu – Gently fold in the cubed paneer or tofu. If using, stir in coconut milk or cream for a richer texture. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Finish & serve – Garnish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lemon. Serve hot with rice, or naan, or enjoy as a flavorful protein addition to salads and grain bowls.
