Spiced Paneer (or Tofu) with Deanz Vegetarian Spice Blend

Ingredients

  • 1 block paneer or firm tofu (cubed)
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • 2 tsp Deanz Vegetarian Spice Blend
  • ½ tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 medium tomato (pureed or finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup coconut milk or cream (optional for a creamy texture)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Directions

  • Sauté the aromatics – Heat oil or ghee in a pan, add onions, and cook until golden brown. Stir in garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Add the spices – Mix in Deanz Vegetarian Masala, and chili powder to taste. Stir for a few seconds to release their flavors.
  • Cook the sauce – Add pureed or chopped tomatoes, and salt, and cook until the tomatoes break down into a thick sauce (about 5 minutes).
  • Add paneer/tofu – Gently fold in the cubed paneer or tofu. If using, stir in coconut milk or cream for a richer texture. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Finish & serve – Garnish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lemon. Serve hot with rice, or naan, or enjoy as a flavorful protein addition to salads and grain bowls.
